Quality and authenticity

Technical Products and Devices

Counterfeit protection in the industrial, household, horticultural and other sectors.

The range of products with technical functions is extremely diverse. It ranges from industrial components to household appliances. In order to guarantee a quality that is in line with the brand manufacturer and the market, a complex product development is often necessary.

Since corresponding yields can be achieved for these quality products, they are very attractive to counterfeiters. Counterfeiters benefit from the brand image without having to supply the corresponding quality. Counterfeit products therefore usually have major deficits in the raw materials used and the functionality and can even pose a security risk for customers. But not only that; they can also lead to alleged liability claims against the brand owner. This results in immense economic and image damage, which also has a negative impact on customer loyalty (solutions, applications, customer retention). The international online trade and the resulting anonymity also make it easy for counterfeiters to smuggle counterfeit products into the market. Counterfeits are also widespread in the aftermarket, so that product and brand protection is of paramount importance for the brand owner.

The unique solution for counterfeit protection

A basic requirement to counteract this is the clear and counterfeit-proof identifiability of the products. With counterfeit-proof serialization, the manufacturer can generate a unique serial code for each product. This code is applied directly to the product or packaging and assures the customer of the authenticity of the product by means of a scan.

The unique identifiability of the products offers both the customer and the manufacturer many additional advantages:

  • With each scan, the manufacturer receives important information about which products were scanned where and can use this information to derive demand trends and future requirements.
  • With targeted marketing measures the manufacturer can document his quality requirements. Thus, the awareness of the customers for quality and authenticity of the original product is increasingly coming to the fore again.
  • The unique identification enables the provision of data that supports the planning of maintenance or the need for spare parts.
  • Especially in the B2C sector, a scan can offer the customer many individual possibilities. The clear identification and the free design of the response page by the manufacturer offer the chance to display, for example, instructions, suitable additional products, warranty information as well as very individually adapted attributes.
