How is a GS1 Digital Link structured?

The GS1 Digital Link plays an important role in the 2D migration. In a GS1 Digital Link, additional attributes of a product, such as the expiry date or the serial number, are integrated with the GTIN in a standardized URL. When this URL is printed on the product as a QR code, it opens up many new possibilities for manufacturers and consumers.
Scanning the QR code takes the customer to a website created by the manufacturer. This website can be used as an effective marketing tool or as a place to collect product-specific information.
SecIdent generates tamper-proof serial numbers (called serial codes) that can be verified for authenticity over the Internet.
